Can I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?

My baby just peed on it... If i can put it in the washing machine, please give me some suggestions. Thank you so much! Can I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?
Nope..has to be dry cleanedCan I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?
First, you could wash it by hand in the bathtub. Use warm (not hot) water and a mild detergent like Downey.

Second, you can use the washing machine if you start with the soak cycle, or another cycle that does not agitate the wash, again using mild soap. Maybe go to a good quilt shop and ask for quilt soap. You agitate it by hand, then use the spin cycle to get most of the water out.

If you can dry it outside on a clothes line or on your deck railing, that would be good, too. Fresh air can do wonders for comforters, blankets, quilts, and the like. But if the covering is delicate (such as on a hand-made quilt) avoid direct sunlight.

And quit letting that kid run around naked and peeing on your stuff--put a diaper on it already!

Good luck.
Yes you can, but when you dry it throw it in the dryer with a couple tennis balls, this will keep it from getting lumpy. the tennis balls bouncing around will keep it fluffy.
You CAN wash your goose down comforter, just don't use any fabric softener. It'll make the feathers sticky. Also, don't use a harsh laundry detergent, it'll break the feathers down and shorten the lifespan of your comforter. Just a quick warning, washing this will make the down settle, and if you don't have baffles, you could end up with ';glumping'; problems. I wash mine twice a year, and it's only settled a little. Well worth not spending a fortune to take it to the Dry Cleaners!! Good luck....
take it to a laundromat with huge machines use a liquid laundry detergent as powers will leave spots
Yes you can wash it in the washer,,I do mine alot.I'm kinda of a clean freak. Anyway makesure you use warm water or cold, then use the delcate cycle, also fold the comforter inside out long ways and stick in like that, that way its inside out in the washer. You can use fabric softner should'nt hurt. Talk to you late hope this works
wash em, I have washed mine for years. Remember to dry in dryer.
Yes. You have to use a front loader. If you use a regular washer, the agitator will probably wear a hole in it. They have nice, big front loading washers at the laundromat.
Wash it in the bathtub, and do it while it's still fresh. I dry mine spread out on out trampoline so it doesn't hang, but if that's not an option set some kitchen chairs up to drape it over.

Remember, the down comes from waterfowl. They do not need dry cleaning.
Yes. Follow directions on label. And I would let it air dry.
You absolutely can but make sure you dry it thoroughly. Hanging it outside to dry is the best. By the way......... I just noticed someone say it has to be dry cleaned. That's absolute bull......... and not a good idea anyway cause dry-cleaning has Pert and it has been linked to causing cancer.
depends on how big your washer is. or you can take it to a laundry mat they have washers and dryers big enough. you can also pay them like $5 and they'll do it for you, just drop it offin the morning and pick it up in the afternoon.
