What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?

I want to know what the delicate cycle in the wash machine is for? What kind of cloths are ';delicate';.What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?
The delicate cycle would be for clothing that should really be washed by hand so that it will not get ruined, snagged, etc. Example, a ladies bra that has underwire would normally be washed by hand; but it can go in the gentle cycle for washing and it should really be hung up to air dry and not go in the dryer so it will keep it shape and not mess up so quickly. So clothing that you want to make sure it keeps it shape and not be damaged should go into the gentle cycle. This includes thin cotton clothing, pantyhose, nylons. Also, nice dress shirts or blouses work well in the gentle cycle. Get the idea? Hope so. If you want to know more go to Tide.com. Tide gives you hints on how to wash clothing and what cycle to put them on and how to sort your clothes, etc. What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?
Delicates are for knits, underwear, anything you might hand wash.

  • Can I wash white adidas superstars (shell-toes) in a washing machine?

yep i wash all my tennis shoes in the washer...my converse leather to my nikes...i throw them all in put in half the soap tie the individual shoes strings together and take them out of the shoes....i also add white towels to the mix...just in case any color would come off any other colored towel...my shoes are great looking and no harm..i dont dry them in the dryer..way to much noise..i let them air dryCan I wash white adidas superstars (shell-toes) in a washing machine?
Yes you can wash your shell toe shoes in the wash machine.

Just use the normal setting and I use hot water for whites and some dirty clothing items.

Just use a delicate hand wash in wash water.

After your shell-toes shoes are done but them outside to air dry.Can I wash white adidas superstars (shell-toes) in a washing machine?
I used to wash my gym shoes in the washing machine (quite a hassle IMO) before I found the gym shoe miracle cleaner...MR CLEAN ERASERS...you gotta try them if you haven't already. They get all of my gymmies back to bright white!
just get some sneaker cleaner.. the washing machine usually turns them yellow. or hand wash with some mild soap and warm water.. but you can put your shoelaces in the washer.
i dont think it will do any harm, but it would make a lot of noise.

Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?

We've been doing this for a few years now. Clothes look fine to me.Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?
We haven't unhooked the hot-water hose from the washing machine, but I use cool water for most of our clothing. My clothes and the kids' clothes turn out fine. I never found out why, but my husband decided years ago to start doing his own laundry, and he uses warm water for everything.

I use warm water for towels and bedding.Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?
I have started washing nearly entirely in cold with the same good results. I air dry a major portion of our clothes as well and they look better and newer longer using this process. One of the other answers is right about the powder laundry detergent in cold. It leaves a white residue. Arm and hammer liquid laundry detergent leaves the freshest cleanest smell of all of the liquid detergent for washing in cold that I have tried.
No need to unhook it. Just always choose cold water wash %26amp; rinse. I've done that for years and as you say, the quality of the washing seems the same. One thing to think about is the type of detergent you use. Powdered detergents don't dissolve well in cold water and at the end of the cycle could leave you with clothes full of lumps of detergent. Use a liquid instead or dissolve the powder in a jar of hot water first before adding to the load.
yes and would u consider taking the drainhose emptying the water into buckets and flushing the comode or watering yur garden with it, this is where a front loader comes in handy less water cleaner clothes not agitating around in dirt water, best investment i ever made, they have had them in europe for a very looong time.
i am sorry i don't wash in hot water it takes forever and a day to fill up the washer that way.
I think so yeah, well we usually use warm water only.
yes that is a great way to save on heating costs and helpful for the environment!

Can you safely wash Converse/ChuckTaylors in the washing machine?

Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?

The duffel bag is a light pink and has everyday wear and tear to it. Will I ruin it if i stick it in the washer? Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?
Most likely not, nike duffel bags are made of a strong polyster material. I stick my totes from Hollister and American Eagle in the washer, they're made of a light cotton material, and they don't get ruined :) Well hope I helped! %26lt;3Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?
It would say on the lable. But I'm sure you can. Just do it alone. and in cold.

Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?

I have this 2 ft. stuff toy Garfield. he's soft and very huggable, he's very cute and very orange. i love him. but he's very dirty because i wasnt able to send him to the dry cleaning, been very busy. i have no time to bring him out to let somebody clean it. how can i wash him? can i put him inside the washing machine? or probably, i should just manually brush and clean him, then blow dry?

please help :)Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?
Try one of the Dryell kits!

    Or if you want.....

If there are not electronics in the toys, they go right into the washing machine(use a front loading model)! I haven't had any problems yet!

I'd say use a gentle laundry soap like Woolite and let it air dry, otherwise it's ';fur'; gets matted.

put it in a pillow case to keep it safe. Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?
Just give him a soak and a rub with stain removing soap, then throw the big guy in the machine just on rinse %26amp; spin cycle, then let him sun bake
If he fits with enough ';elbow room'; to move around in the washer at home, then that would be okay. Or, you might want to wash him in a laundry mat washer, bigger. But 2 ft. should be fine in home washer.

Please, wash him in cold water, and dry him in the dryer on perm press or high temp. Probably perm press would be best, but make sure he is dry --so the dryer should run for about an hour or so.

    Take care.
Depending on the size, it is best to wash stuffed animals inside a pillowcase, it still allows them to get clean without ruining the exterior.
I've thrown stuffed animals in the wash many times. It shouldn't be a problem, as long as it fits loosely in there.

How do you wash delicates in the washing machine?

You don't necessarily have to put them in a mesh bag, if you have a delicate cycle on your washing machine. The delicate cycle agitates less aggressively and is a shorter wash time, and also spins out more gentle than regular cycles. However if they are very delicate I would hand wash them or take them to the dry cleaners. How do you wash delicates in the washing machine?
Put them in a nylon mesh bag. You can get one at Wal-mart, K-Mart, etc.

  • Can I wash my jogging shoes by using washing machine and a dryer?

whether there will be any damage to the machine if I do so.Can I wash my jogging shoes by using washing machine and a dryer?
I've been doing this for years. I tie them into an old pillowcase or a special mesh laundry bag, wash with liquid detergent first, then add 1/2 cup white vinegar afterwards in the rinse cycle. They come out nice and clean and smelling a lot better.

Don't put them into the dryer though, rather stand them in the sun to dry or in an airing cupboard, or if like me, you have a hot water tank inside. on top of that. I always stuff them with an old towel to keep their shape. Can I wash my jogging shoes by using washing machine and a dryer?
Don't do it at a laundromat machine. You'll get kicked out. What they're worried about is that if you put the shoes in loose, they'll bounce around and maybe dent the drum. Joggers tend to be rather light, so I don't know if that'll be an issue or not.

I've also been told there's a risk of throwing the drum out of alignment, but if that were the case, loading heavy clothes in there unevenly would be more of a problem.

If it's your own machine, do as you wish. The manufacturers usually warn against it in the owner's manuals, but I know of several people who claim to do this with no problems -- though oddly, not when they own the machines.
I have used both washer and dryer. If you take your laces out and wash those by hand separately, you won't have to worry about the laces getting caught under the agitator and causing damage. Though I have dried the shoes in the dryer, we got what is called a shoe dryer several years ago and we love it.!!!!! http://www.shoeshineexpress.com/dryers.a… These also are great for winter boots and gloves, and since this is what they are meant to do , they don't damage the shoes. Dryers can get the leather to hot and cause it to start to crack. If the shoes aren't excessively dirty, try slipping the insole out,(they do come out, though they may seem stuck a little.) and wash these by hand, then use a soft brush on the outer surface, this should clean the shoe without taking a chance of damaging them.

    Good Luck
You can wash them but tie them into a pillow case or something to stop your machine being damaged. I wouldn't use the dryer though.
yes you can but not in dryer.
    Don't even think about it
    dont think so

Is it bad for your washing machine if you wash towels in their own load?

A friend of mine told me that her washing machine broke because she washes towels alone in their own load. (The ';fix it'; guy told her that.) Just curious if anyone else has been told this...I'd like to stop washing my towels like that if there is a chance it will screw up my machine. Is it bad for your washing machine if you wash towels in their own load?
I do a load of just towels every week. I have never heard that before. Maybe she was putting too many in a single load...?Is it bad for your washing machine if you wash towels in their own load?
That's ridiculous. I've been doing laundry for 35 years and never had that happen once.

The only thing I could see is if she overloaded the washing machine with towels since they're extremely heavy when wet. When washing any item, you have to take into account what it weighs when it's wet.

Jeans would be just as heavy... I'm sure he didn't tell her not to wash all the jeans in one load.
No actually it doesn't really do anything to your washer, but you could save water by washing towels with clothing or any other type of fabric.

P.S it would help to wash a heavy and full load. Wasshing machines are used for washing.
I think that's bunk. She may have had the load off center and it broke it, but that can happen with anything. I do a load of towels and occasionally throw in a sweatshirt or other heavy item if I need more to fill it up. Never had a problem.
Maybe only if you load too many or if it is loaded too heavily on one side. Other than that, I don't see how it could hurt it. You will usually know if the washer is filled unevenly by the horrendous noise that it makes on the spin cycle. :)
No it certainly will not. What's the difference in washing a load of towels and washing a load of say, jeans.
i am pretty sure u are actually supposed to wash towels withought any other clothing like shirts and pants. Ther are supposed to be done seperately.
towels get very heavy when wet. So your friend either put way to many into her washer, or she had a super cheap washer.

just don't overload your washer and you'll be fine.
That, my friend, is all hogwash.

Somebody is pulling somebody else's leg on this one. Have a nice day.
Never heard that in my life and I've always washed my towels as one load.
No... that doesn't make sense. I wash them seperately all the time. She must've put too many in or something.
    NOPE

Can you wash a cotton belt in the washing machine?

I handwashed it and it's hard to get the detergent out..Can you wash a cotton belt in the washing machine?
I always machine wash them and machine dry them, too. To iron them place the rounded type under the iron and hold the iron still. then pull the belt down from the botton. You can iron the flat belts this way too, or iron it in sectioms as if you are ironing a pillowcase. Can you wash a cotton belt in the washing machine?
Yes you can but use cold water and the gentle cycle. I would also use woolight.

Nah just take them to the laundry mat. What should I do the washing machine does not work %26amp; I need to wash my clothes should I?
I was going to say just wash them by hand or use someone else's washing machine but then I saw your additional information and I'd say the Laundry mat as they won't get very clean in the sea.
    Pacific Ocean
I recommend a laundry place your clothes will be more fresher then cleaning them in the Ocean.
    Ocean. Much more efficient. lol
    Pacific Ocean, It's free
Try the laundry mat - It might be faster %26amp; cleaner
Take your scrub board and a bar of soap to the ocean
Use them as rags and wash the car.. two birds one stone...lol

How do people wash clothes without a washing machine?

You wash them by hand. With detergent. How do people wash clothes without a washing machine?
One of two ways, depending on how much money they have available. Most common? Go to the local laundromat, and use their machiens for about $1.25/load.

Or, use your bathtub to wash your clothes- just add some mild dishwasher detergent, and handwash. How do people wash clothes without a washing machine?
Well, you can do it the old fashioned way and scrub them out by hand in your tub or sink. Or you can lug all your laundry off to a laundromat and pay to have them washed.
In my early years as a mom i lived in a small one bedroom apartment with no washer and the laundrymat a mile away and no car..i also used cloth diapers. So i use to wash my clothes by hand in the bathtub. Actually was good exercise...filled the tub..put in some washing soap..got in with my feet and agitated the clothes by walking around in it for about 15 minutes..then would drain the tub and rinse each piece by hand and wring them out by hand..jeans are a pain but if you want clean clothes and have no washer you have to do what you have to do.
Do what we had to do, use a Washboard. Dad would not let my sister and me wash just two pair of jeans in the washing machine because it wasn't a full load.(they were new jeans and we wanted to shrink them) We always had to use the washboard. I still have that old washboard, but now it's been stained, finished and is hanging up on the kitchen wall. It looks better as a decoration.Bye And I'm not one of the ,';Old Folk'; like smokey said!
Buy a washboard. You can find them at rummage sales sometimes or at antique stores or you can actually buy newer ones still. Then you can use a washtub if you wanna do it outdoors like the old folks did or you can simply do it in your bathtub or sink.
    Go to the laundromat. duh.
My first inclination would be to answer ';by hand! DUH!'; but you also have the option of going to the laundromat. washing by hand can really be pain, especially if you have a lot of laundry.

I have a pair of ugg boots that are FILTHY! Is it okay to wash them in the washing machine?

Or will that damage them?I have a pair of ugg boots that are FILTHY! Is it okay to wash them in the washing machine?
Ugg boots are so cozy and warm, you may never want to take them off. However, the constant wearing will lead to dirt, grime and odors. You can use specialized Ugg products to clean Ugg boots, or simply utilize household products as explained below.

    Steps:

    1. Use cold water to lightly moisten the outside of the boots only. Do not submerge them in water.

    2. Dilute a cleaner appropriate for leather to form a solution of one part cleaner and one part water.

    3. Apply solution to a wet sponge and gently clean boots' outer surface. Rinse with clean sponge dipped in cold water.

    4. Stuff boots with paper towels or newspaper to hold shape and dry out of direct sunlight or direct heat. Direct sunlight or heat will cause shrinkage.

    5. Brush boots with a suede brush or lint-free towel to restore the nap.

    6. Use a mixture of 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. corn flour to deodorize and soften the inside of the boots. If you wish, you can add a few drops of an essential oil to create a sweet scent. Shake the mixture into the boots and let it stand overnight. Shake the excess out the next day.

    Overall Tips:

Cleaning and protection products available from Ugg include Ugg Sheepskin Cleaner and Conditioner.

Apply a water and stain-resistant coating to the boots to minimize stains and dirt, such as Ugg Sheepskin Water and Stain Repellent.

You can buy replacement insoles for Uggs - some of them washable - so if your boots have an odor problem consider replacing or washing the insoles.

Sometimes the boots will shrink slightly after washing. This is normal and you can expect them to stretch back out when you wear them.

    Overall Warnings:

Never put Ugg boots in the washing machine or dryer.

Most Ugg boots are intended for indoor wear. Keep away from extreme elements, such as rain and snow, to keep your boots in tip-top shape.I have a pair of ugg boots that are FILTHY! Is it okay to wash them in the washing machine?
    Your welcome....I hope it helped..Have a nice weekend....Thanks =) Report Abuse

as ugly as ugg boots are, I would take my chances, if it ruins them, then you can get better looking boots.
Never put Ugg boots in the washing machine or dryer.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_155890_clean-ugg…
You can wash them, but if they are suede/soft leather don't...but my tip is, put the boots into a pillow case, put some other cloths that need washing also, don't pack it tight, but you will need enough cloths to cushion your boots.....then wash, but make sure you spin at a medium speed.....Also use cloths pegs to hold the pillow case closed...
Ah! Once, I wondered just like you and put my very dirty, fat and muddy boots in the washing machine. My Mum dried them on the radiator after it was washed and.......when I saw them, GOODNESS!
NO YOU MUST NOT! if they are real ugg boots they are made from Sheep skin and suede which means that when washed in a washing machine they will shrink and lose their stiching over time. SHampoo them whith a a shoe shampoo which you can buy in shops and acloth or just use water and dry them on radiator do not use a t. dryer
noooooooooo dont put em in the machine, they will lose all their natural oils and dry out, use a proper cleaner...

DO NOT LET THEM DRY ON THE RADIATOR, LET THEM DRY NATURALLY...SORRY BECKY
Yes it is ok, make sure you use hot water with a warm rinse.
    damn, you must be stupid
yes but don't were them if there smurf shoes

  • Can I wash my (bed) pillows in the washing machine?

I have one tempur pillow (soft and foamy) and another feather pillow and I was wondering if it's ok to wash and dry.Can I wash my (bed) pillows in the washing machine?
For most of these types of pillows I would recommend dry-cleaning.

However feather pillows can be hand washed - follow this instruction:

Feathers repel water: that is why they keep the goose dry. so they are harder to wash than down. Hand wash using mild detergent, NOT soap. Soap is harder to remove and can leave a residue.

Use 1/4 cup of vinegar in the rinse to help remove detergent residue.

Machine dry using the ';hot'; cycle, with the sneaker, or dry in the sun, turning and fluffing the pillow periodically to redistribute the feathers. Monitor the drying by checking on your item about every 15 to 20 minutes. Shake vigorously all direction and place back in dryer. Repeat this process until its light and fluffy. Monitor your dryer often, as you will want to take the item out of the dryer immediately when dry. Some dryer drums get hot and may not be good for your feather item if left after your dryer stops. Can I wash my (bed) pillows in the washing machine?
does the tempur pillow have a tag on it with instructions? I wouldnt wash the feather pillow, hang it out to air out.
Don't wash the feather pillow! It's bad bad bad.

Can you wash your shoes in the washing machine?

and if you can what type of shoes??Can you wash your shoes in the washing machine?
I wash sneakers or canvas shoes in my washer. Can you wash your shoes in the washing machine?
I usually wash canvas type shoes/sneakers. However, they do have a tendency to shrink until stretched out again. I would never wash leather or even fake leather in the washer. I washed my daughters Crocks in the washer and they came out looking like new. I have a drying rack in my dryer, so the sneakers do not tumble if I put them in the dryer. Or an alternative is to sit them in the sun to dry. You are always taking a chance that the liner inside the shoe will come out too. It depends on how bad you want to wash your shoes, I suppose.
Some cloth material shoes can be wash through washing machine. Sometimes they say it/ printed that it is machine washable. But most are not (especially leather).

But if I were you, I rather clean it by myself by using old toothbrush and bit of detergent. Better that way, the shoes will stay in shape and some print and color will be ok too.
I use the delicate setting warm/warm water

and I just wash some sleepiers that are purple with little pink fur type of material

    and some light biedge shoes

When the wash has finish with the wash cycle. I just let them air dry out side of the house but yesterday we had a big wind/rain storm. I don't know if it going to rain again but it dry as hell outside.
The only shoes I have ever put in the washer are Keds style canvas shoes. I have even put these through the dryer with no problem, however, once in while they do ';kick'; the dryer door open so you may have to check on them occasionally. =;o)
i have washed different brands of sneakers. the only problem i found was after washing a few times, they seem to start falling apart. i think the glue that is used cant hold up to water very well.
I've washed sneakers, hiking boots, and flip flops. I put them in a mesh bag so that the ties don't get caught and twisted. You may have to place them out in the sun to allow them to dry thoroughly.
personally, I wouldn't...you may ruin the washing machine and the shoes may fall apart from the machine. I would wash them by hand...if you just want to clean the outside of them....well sneakers...oxyclean and a toothbrush work great
You can if they are running shoes, the only thing is that you can't put them in the dryer or else the shoes will warp and shrink
Dont do it the shoes will just fall apart later its better to do it by hand.

Can I wash stuffed animals in the washing machine?

! of them is a jelly cat the other are build a bearsCan I wash stuffed animals in the washing machine?
You can put them in a pillowcase . If they are special I would not risk it. When my daughter was little she had a bear It was so dirty I had to wash it. When I took it out it was in pieces.M y daughter was so distrot I had to sew it back together ,it was nearly impossible. It had one arm on its back, the other arm on its chest. She is now 24 and still has it,as dirty as ever. Can I wash stuffed animals in the washing machine?
There should be a tag on them somewhere that says if you can wash them or not. If it is filled with stuffing, I would think it would be ok, but you might want to stick it in a tied pillowcase first to help protect it.
    yup.

    COLDWATER!! on delicate if possible.

and can also be tumble dried.

If you use hot water it'll become deformed due to shrinkage.

    =]
I definitly wouldn't. The best way to wash them is to use a damp cloth and shampoo (baby shampoo works great), then just give them a light shampooing. Take another clean cloth and dampen, and rinse off animal until soap residue is gone. (You will not need to use very much shampoo to get them nice and clean, so rinsing is very easy). They will be soft, fluffy, and best of all clean again-as good as new. You won't need to worry about the stuffing molding or any parts coming off!
i always do, my kids just set them on top of the washer when they want them washed. just do it on the gentle cycle and if it's old and you think it can handle the dryer then go for it, but if it's delicately made then just use your best judgement, and you can just let them air dry.
I have done this with success, however you want to check the stuffy over for loose buttons, etc. Be cautious with items with felt eyes and the like. Old felt can tear in the washer. I have washed in cold water and NEVER put them into the dryer. The dryer can turn a beloved soft stuffy into a ';scratchy brillo-feeling not soft anymore mommy what did you do to my stuffy'; mess. Also I have added fabric softener to the rinse cycle, but add it as a diluted form so as to not pour it on one particular spot on a stuffy. Lay the out on a towel on a table turn periodically for even drying.
Yes, but be sure to have it on low! I can't tell you how many times I cried when I was a kid after having my stuffed ponies come out of the dryer mutilated.
I usually risk it - no drama's so far!
I always put my kids stuffed animals in the washer, never had a problem. If you put them in the dryer, you should use low or no heat so the fur doesn't melt.
    Some, yes; others are no:

Glued eyes, nose, etc.. will fall off.

If has moveable parts such as a battery needed, etc. will be damaged. Some types of stuffing can't be soaked.

If unsure, create a Woolite/water solution %26amp; a brush to clean exterior of animals.

Can you wash car mats in the washing machine?

The car mats in our truck are getting filthy %26amp; right now finances are tight so we can't afford a detail or a shampoo. Can I stick the car mats in a large capacity washing machine or will they get ruined? Can you wash car mats in the washing machine?
The plastic will crack, they are too ridgid. Some carwash places have a clip to hang the mat on the wall and spray it with the high power washer. Otherwise, you could spray them with a hose, or put them in the bathtub and give them a good scrub with a brush. Maybe even let them soak overnight. Give them a good shaking first to get all the loose dirt out first. Good Luck! Can you wash car mats in the washing machine?
There best thing to do is ....

take the mats out of the vehicle.

Spay some type of degreaser or formula 409 or something on them.

Maybe mean green if they sell it where you are.

Then let them soak for about 10 to 30 minutes.

Go to a car wash and use the high pressure hose to wash them off.

Holding the pressure nozzle close ....

Go back and forth from top to bottom and then from bottom to top.

Do this several times with each mat.

Let them hang on the side of the fence, wall, or some times they have clamps inside the car wash stall to hang mats.

    This should do the trick.

You can let the degreaser / 409 / mean green sit on the mats longer if you like.

    Try 10 minutes first.

    If not clean enough ?

Let sit for 20 to 30 minutes.

    If it's sunny out ?

They should dry in around 30 minutes to an hour.

    If sunny and hot.

    If cold ?

Hang them so the water will drip.

I don't think you should hang them on the side of the truck. Might cause some streaking on the paint job depending on what you spray on the mats.

    Sorry for this long answer.

I'm pretty tired and beat and wanted to help.
I wouldn't wash them in your washing machine. Instead, I would recommend taking them to the nearest car wash (the kind with the pressure hoses). The ones down here have clips to hold the mats on the walls and lets you clean them off. After that, just set them in the bed of the truck and the lay them outside at home in the sun to dry for an afternoon.
No, but what I usually do is lay them out on the driveway and scrub them with a scrubbie brush with soap and water. When you rinse them the water runs down the driveway and then they can air dry in the sun!

Works well for me, hope it does for you! :)
Your best bet is to wash them by hand. Take some detergent and a hand held scrub with some water. Scrub out the stains, rinse, and hang to dry. Ta-Da!!
I did just recently wash mine at home, but my mats were carpety ones . if you have really thick rubbery ones i would use a commercial laundry.
You can, but they do much better in the top rack of the dishwasher if you have one. (Just don't wash any dishes along with them!)
You mean the big plastic ones? No, I wouldn't say they would get ruined. The carpety ones would probably be fine as well, but you certainly could do it by hand for free!

    Hope I helped!
    Hello

Get the power washer on them and let them dry before putting them back in.

    Andy C
you can't. the plastic will break.
NO WAY! NEVER DO THAT! I mean, WWJD?!?!?!

How many times we have to wash clothes in washing machine?

in hand wash, we wash twice and rinse in water twice. Do we need to follow the same procedure while washing in washing machine? To be precise (Top Loading / semi-automatic machine)How many times we have to wash clothes in washing machine?
One time should be enough as long as you don't overload the machine. How many times we have to wash clothes in washing machine?
Once is enough in a washing machine. You don't need to pretreat the stain unless it's bad enough that you are sure scraping it would help. In that case, wear more protective clothing to do your work.
    aiya......

the washing machine is a machine... and it got computer program to do everything on washing except washing your pets....

my mother used to rinse the cloths manually before putting them into the washing machine.... because they think that the machine wash not clean.... that was then - many many 10 years ago.

now .. machines can wash anything in any way you like.... read the instructions.... and just throw in your cloths and press the button.... and wait....
no let the washer run the cycle not you

What would happen if i wash my Jansport backpack in the washing machine?

Would t ruin my it? If so , then how do i wash it?

Be as specific as you can and thanks for answering!!!!!What would happen if i wash my Jansport backpack in the washing machine?
Wash it on the perm press or low cycle. It will get the dirt out and not tear it up. also air dry and dont put it in the dryer because the dryer will damage it. I have washed mine several times. Good luck! What would happen if i wash my Jansport backpack in the washing machine?
I would wash it in a front loader washing machine on a gentle cycle in cold water...Add only a bit of detergent and a tad of fabric softener..And I would only dry it for about 10-15 minutes on a light air fluff cycle, just so you don't melt and plastic on it. Of if you can't get to a front loader machine-do it in your regular washing machine but make sure you wash it in cold water on the gentle cycle. And do the same thing about drying it. Good luck, I hope this helps! :-)
It should be okay, if washed in cold water on a gentle cycle. Just let it air dry, though. The heat and tumbling from the dryer might damage it some.
if you are worried about ruining it , just take it to a dry cleaner

  • Can I wash my long underwear (long johns) using washing machine and after that tumble dry it?

Will it not shrink or stretch from its original size? Can I wash my long underwear (long johns) using washing machine and after that tumble dry it?
it depends,,, if cottons... yesCan I wash my long underwear (long johns) using washing machine and after that tumble dry it?
I always toss ours in the washer then the dryer!

Don't wash them with heavy stuff like jeans or bath towels. This will stretch them a bit. But not too much.

Since our undies are rarely seen it doesn't matter too much if we have a few stretch marks in them.
I think it would depend much on the fabric. If you must use the tumble dry, select the delicate setting and the lightest heat.

    Kind Regards,

    Who's That Guy

    http://www.whosthatguy.com.au/
If there just a normal pair of long johns, then yes, you can wash them like you would wash your other clothes and then dry them the same way!!!!! If there silk or home-made them wash them on delicate and hang them up to dry!
yes you can wash them but make sure not too hot. dry in a tumble drier and also don't leave for too long.
check and see if there are any washing instructions on the labels if they have any and just follow that.
It depends on the fabric they are made from just like any other garments.
    Mine shrunk.

Can I wash a down filled jacket in a washing machine?

If I was a downfilled jacket in the washing machine will it ruin my jacket? It says dry clean only, but I always machine wash my dry clean only clothes...im just not sure what will happen to the down if i put it in the wash. Can I wash a down filled jacket in a washing machine?
I washed my down comforter that is dry clean only in the washer on the delicate cycle and air dried it. It didn't damage the down. Ducks and geese live in the water so I don't think water will hurt the down. If you do decide to machine wash it make sure the fabric on the coat won't shrink or anything like that. Just a little warning-wet down smells like wet dog!!Can I wash a down filled jacket in a washing machine?
Well, you can wash a down comforter in the washing machine, but if the tag says ';dry clean only';, I'd go with that.
    I don't know, can you?
Not long ago I saw a program on washing dry-clean-only clothes (believe it or not). They said if you're careful you can pretty much wash most dry-clean-only clothes - but not all.

I'm fairly certain you'll ruin down if you wash it.
No, you will ruin the jacket. You can take it to a dry cleaner.
Yep. Warm water, delicate cycle and throw in an old sneaker. Seriously. It somehow keeps the down from piling up in a lump.
I've washed down before, in the gentle cycle, and dried in the dryer on air dry. Didn't hurt my Eddie Bauer jacket.

How can I wash my converse in the washing machine...?

They're covered in mud from like, a year and a half ago. How long should I put them in the washing maching (its older). On cold water? Hot water? How much detergent?

How long should I put them in the dryer? Thanks. How can I wash my converse in the washing machine...?
1st you need to take them outside and scrape off as much mudd as you can. Wash in warm water...... If you place them in the dryer they WILL shrink ..... good luck:)How can I wash my converse in the washing machine...?
Hi, When my runners or my kids runners also baseball caps are really dirty I run them through the dishwasher. They look brand new after this. I usually do this when it is warm enough for them to dry outside or in the sun. They can dry by a heat register also. I find if you put them in a washing machine or dryer they bang around so much and it is hard on your machine. Hope this helps.
Put them in a large wash of old cloths, preferably towels. If they are white add some Oxyclean. Turn the wash off after it has agitated a bit an let them soak for a few hours. Then finish the wash cycle. Don't dry them in the dryer, just let them air dry.
If you put them in the dryer they will shrink. You can lay them outside to dry in the sun or hang them. (Clip the tongue to the bottom of a hanger.)
wash them in warm water .and use half cup of detergent .and then put them in the dryer until dried.

How do you wash soft toys in the washing machine?

I have a lot of soft toys which I would like to donate to charity - they are about 20 years old so they need to be washed. How do I wash them safely in the washing machine and dry them so that they don't go all lumpy? (the washibng instructions have worn off the labels)How do you wash soft toys in the washing machine?
Unless the toys have the safety label, charity shops will be unable to sell them. So save your time and trouble, they will only bin them, keep them or give to family members or friends, but remember they only mean a lot to you! They may not like them, especially if they are old.. Toys wash well in a machine, around 40 deg. then tumble them and they will be fine. How do you wash soft toys in the washing machine?
I was myself in the washing machine
Wash by hand or use the GENTLE / DELICATE cycle on your washing machine...
i stick mine inside a pillow case to wash them , same when drying too
put it on your soft wash on your washing machine have a good look at the symbols on the machine
If you have a really gentle wash cycle, then that's probably the one that you want to use. Mine has, it fills up, turns twice, stands for twenty minutes and then turns twice back. Somehow the clothes come out clean. It's the eighth wonder. Or is it the ninth? I'm losing track of these wonders.
I wash them in a pillowcase tied in a knot or closed with a rubber band in warm water. Then dry them in the pillowcases. That kills all those pesky dustmites.
I wash mine on a cool wash at 30 and then just dry on washing line (when it isn't raining *LOL)
WASH THE TOYS BY PUTTING THEM IN A SEPERATE PILLOW CASE EACH ON A LOW TEMPERATURE.DONT TUMBLE DRY LEAVE TO DRY NATURALLY
hi, i normally wash my kids soft toys by hand (especially their fav's... always get something on them, jam, chocolate, juice!) then i put them into washing machine to spin them ... then lay a towel on the radiators and lay them onto it. The towel helps as sometimes they get stuck to the radiator if too hot or with some cuddly toys u end up with a leaky foot or hand where water starts to settle down and will save puddles on the floor!
DO NOT PUT THEM INTO THE WASHER. Get some 'carpet cleaning solution and a 'brush' ... pour some of the 'solution' into an equal amount of water and 'stir' until it gets 'really foamy' ... dip the brush into THE FOAM and 'scrub' each animal, then CLEAN the 'soap' from the brush, and dip it in water and 'rinse' ... do the 'rinse' three times. Your animals will not 'get lumpy' and will look 'new' ... It will take some time, but the KIDS who don't have any stuffed animals will LOVE YOU (even if they don't know you) for doing this! THANK YOU FOR DONATING YOUR STUFFED FRIENDS TO CHARITY ... and thank you for wanting to 'clean them' before you give them away.
They probably should be hand washed or put into those mesh bags and washed on gentle cycle. Air dry
o0pen the door and chuck it in the machine, easy
Put them into a pillow case, gently throw them into the washing machine and switch onto a delicate wash!
i think you should hand wash them, and too stop them going lumpy whilst drying, use a hair dryer too keep them soft...
Actually, if they are about 20 years old, you may want to check if they will still take them.

Some of the toys have come under 'new' regulations that may prohibit them from being sold on. Even from a charity shop.

But, aside from that you would normally only surface wash plush toys as as you say, the stuffing goes all lumpy.

What about surface washing and then spray with something like Detol Surface Cleaner maybe??
I wash my daughters the same way I wash clothes. Put them into the washer, then in the dryer.
    Delicate cycle.
put them in your pillow cases and that helps when washing them.

I do that to mine and I have quite a few as I collect them.

Can you wash your yoga mat in the washing machine?

I have a yoga mat that's a little thicker than most and it's getting sort of dirty and won't get entirely clean by just scrubbing the surface. Will washing it on the delicate cycle ruin it?Can you wash your yoga mat in the washing machine?
if it is a sticky mat, or any kind of synthetic mat, then it will be fine in the washing machine, on a delicate cycle. best not to spin it though.

if you have any kind of eco/rubber/ or biodegradeable mat then it is best to dunk it in a cool bath and give it a bit of a scrub.

in all cases hang them out to dry for quite a while as they do hold onto alot of water. Can you wash your yoga mat in the washing machine?
thats probably not a good idea. try running some sort of steam cleaner over it

  • Can I wash a wool sweater in my washing machine?

It has a dog pee stain on it. I know I should probably bring it to a dry cleaner, but I'm trying to save money. Can I wash a wool sweater in my washing machine?
    don't do it.

I bought a brand new Electrolux washer and dryer in December. The washer has a ';hand wash'; setting (gentle wash, no spin) and I ruined one of my favorite sweaters... you know, to where it would be good for a two year old? I wish I'd taken it in... wahhhh...

I used cold water, Woolite, everything you're supposed to use..Can I wash a wool sweater in my washing machine?
Yes if your machine has a wool wash/handwash cycle (mine does 25c) or a cool low spin one. Use a detergent appropriate for wools as well and reshape as soon as is finished. I was spending a fortune on dry cleaning because my husband plays golf and has quite a few cashmere jumpers but this works a treat...hope the stain comes out too.
The shrinking is usually caused by the drying method.

If it is safe in water it is safe in Lux, used to be the advert for the mild soap flakes.

I would use a conditioner on it too, spin dry lightly, then allow to dry gently on a rack, keep moving around whilst it is drying will help keep it in shape.
You might end up ruining it. I ruined my wool sweater by putting it in the washing machine. It now has little holes in it and lint all over it and doesn't look great. So depends, if you're going to throw the sweater out anyways then sure
I wash all my sweaters and have never had a problem (woolite, gentle cycle, cold water and lay flat to dry) I also put each individual sweater in a small mesh lingerie bag so that they wont get pulled and tangled
if you want a smaller one, then go for it

take it to the dry cleaners, save money for the service
Does your machine have a gentle cycle? Use that cycle and Woolite in cold water. Do NOT dry it, spread it out on a rack if you have one, or a towel, and let it air dry. Good luck.
...sure... don't ever expect to ware it again but you can wash it in the machine if you'd like !

    Get it Dry Cleaned.

How do you wash vans slip ons without any noise or damage to you washing machine? if there is any damage?

I was also wondering since you leave them out to dry will they smell? How do you wash vans slip ons without any noise or damage to you washing machine? if there is any damage?
I wash mine all the time.. it dose not hurt the fabric on the vans. Or any of your machines.. But I leave mine out to dry, they dont get smelly. How do you wash vans slip ons without any noise or damage to you washing machine? if there is any damage?
I always put mine in the washingmachine. There is no damage in mine. After I wash them, I put Lysol on them and leave them out to dry. :D

    Hope I could help.
just wash them, it won't hurt them.

but i got some a long time ago, they're white with black stars, and the black stars bled out onto the white.

    so be careful :)
You can wash any shoes in the washing machine. they will end up smelling like the detergent.
try getting thoughs soe cleans thingys

that u can rub on ur shoe

and it proabaly wont smell 2 bad but becareful about how much water is in it when u do dry it
ive washed my shoes in the washing machine before, and i never had any troubel before.

but i loeave them out to air dry ahah.
must be washed by hand and left to dry out in open space
you have to wash them by hand

    not in a dryer

    it will damage

    and the soles will melt

If I always use cold water in the washing machine, does it matter if I put whites and colors in the same wash?

Also, is color bleeding determined by temperature of water only, or is it affected by type of detergent as well?If I always use cold water in the washing machine, does it matter if I put whites and colors in the same wash?
Some colors bleed just because they are wet. Do not wash whites with any other color for best results. If you do happen to get color bleeding on whites, do not put the item in the dryer, as heat sets the stain. You can put it on a hanger in the bathroom and let it air dry if necessary. Rit makes several

products that will help remove color bleeding problems. If I always use cold water in the washing machine, does it matter if I put whites and colors in the same wash?
Many colored clothes will beed when they are new, even in plain water. But after most clothes have been washed a few times, it's usually okay to mix them, Red can be an exception, though. Red dye can be VERY hard to avoid, so if you aren't sure, soak the item in water to see if the water turns pink.
I never hurt any of my loads to mix the colords with the whites, even in warm water. The only problems come from colors that ';bleed'; or if you intend to use bleach.
If your colored clothes have been washed a lot already then it is probably ok.

If they are new you should not wash them with the whites for several times.

If you put darks, like jeans in with whites, the whites will all have kind of a light grayish tint.

I'm one of those people who likes to try to get as much clothes into one load as I can so I tend to sort them into a lights and whites pile and another pile of jeans and darks. Then there is the towels pile and the very dirty work clothes pile.

Actually the piles are clothes baskets, a different one for each color and everyone is to put their clothes into the right basket. When the basket is full, I wash them. Very easy.
    Hey...

I do it all time. I make sure that if I have new colored clothing I wash it w/o whites for the first time or two, just in case the color runs when the garment is new. And while bleeding colors can possibly be caused by temperature, I think the age of the clothing item is a more probable cause. Best of luck to you.
cold water helps stop clothes from bleeding .

as a rule of thumb you should do colors separately .

do whites in hot water with bleach .
Sort your clothes according to color, fabric, construction, linting, soil level.

Can I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?

My baby just peed on it... If i can put it in the washing machine, please give me some suggestions. Thank you so much! Can I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?
Nope..has to be dry cleanedCan I wash a down comforter in a washing machine? I?
First, you could wash it by hand in the bathtub. Use warm (not hot) water and a mild detergent like Downey.

Second, you can use the washing machine if you start with the soak cycle, or another cycle that does not agitate the wash, again using mild soap. Maybe go to a good quilt shop and ask for quilt soap. You agitate it by hand, then use the spin cycle to get most of the water out.

If you can dry it outside on a clothes line or on your deck railing, that would be good, too. Fresh air can do wonders for comforters, blankets, quilts, and the like. But if the covering is delicate (such as on a hand-made quilt) avoid direct sunlight.

And quit letting that kid run around naked and peeing on your stuff--put a diaper on it already!

    Good luck.
Yes you can, but when you dry it throw it in the dryer with a couple tennis balls, this will keep it from getting lumpy. the tennis balls bouncing around will keep it fluffy.
You CAN wash your goose down comforter, just don't use any fabric softener. It'll make the feathers sticky. Also, don't use a harsh laundry detergent, it'll break the feathers down and shorten the lifespan of your comforter. Just a quick warning, washing this will make the down settle, and if you don't have baffles, you could end up with ';glumping'; problems. I wash mine twice a year, and it's only settled a little. Well worth not spending a fortune to take it to the Dry Cleaners!! Good luck....
take it to a laundromat with huge machines use a liquid laundry detergent as powers will leave spots
Yes you can wash it in the washer,,I do mine alot.I'm kinda of a clean freak. Anyway makesure you use warm water or cold, then use the delcate cycle, also fold the comforter inside out long ways and stick in like that, that way its inside out in the washer. You can use fabric softner should'nt hurt. Talk to you late hope this works
wash em, I have washed mine for years. Remember to dry in dryer.
Yes. You have to use a front loader. If you use a regular washer, the agitator will probably wear a hole in it. They have nice, big front loading washers at the laundromat.
Wash it in the bathtub, and do it while it's still fresh. I dry mine spread out on out trampoline so it doesn't hang, but if that's not an option set some kitchen chairs up to drape it over.

Remember, the down comes from waterfowl. They do not need dry cleaning.
Yes. Follow directions on label. And I would let it air dry.
You absolutely can but make sure you dry it thoroughly. Hanging it outside to dry is the best. By the way......... I just noticed someone say it has to be dry cleaned. That's absolute bull......... and not a good idea anyway cause dry-cleaning has Pert and it has been linked to causing cancer.
depends on how big your washer is. or you can take it to a laundry mat they have washers and dryers big enough. you can also pay them like $5 and they'll do it for you, just drop it offin the morning and pick it up in the afternoon.

Why does my washing machine spin during the wash cycle, but not agitate?

My washer started having problems at the same time. It started leaking water during the spin cycle and it would have to be turned manually to get it to spin. I also noticed, that it would spin during the washing cycle rather than agitate. What's going on? ?? Im considered the handywoman of the house, and I believe that I can fix this, I just need a little help as to what I can do to resolve this issue. Any suggestions????Why does my washing machine spin during the wash cycle, but not agitate?
Your agitator is most likely busted. If you lift out that big thing in the middle, you'll see the agitator. Its a little toothed thing. It should have grooves for the thing to latch onto and help it agitate. If those grooves are worn down, you need a new one. Easy to replace, and it will agitate again.

How to wash clothing so they don't stretch in the wash machine?

What can I do to prevent my cloths from stretching in the wash machine? besides using a good detergent, what wash cycle should I use or what? How to wash clothing so they don't stretch in the wash machine?
You should use a gentle cycle and probably cold water should do the trick.

  • Do you ever wash ';dry clean only'; items in the washing machine? What are your results?

After a dry cleaner ruined an expensive dry clean only outfit, I thought I would take my chances with the machine. Since then, I've washed several dry clean only items on cold/delicate/no spin with great success. Granted not everyone has a machine they can switch to no spin.

I'm wondering if anyone else has tried washing dry clean only items and what their results have been.Do you ever wash ';dry clean only'; items in the washing machine? What are your results?
Yes, I've washed dry clean only items before and have had some success, but also had some failures.

    Success:

    printed raw silk tunic

    knit jersey dress

    tailored cotton vest

    Failures:

    rayon pants: Shrunk

    black silk sweater: faded color

lined wool skirt (accidentally ended up in wash): Wool outside fabric shrunk and acetate liner didn't.

Good rules of thumb regarding dry cleanables:

    1) If it's wool, dry clean it.

    2) If it's lined with a different fabric than the outside fabric, dry clean it.

    3) If it's black, dry clean it.Do you ever wash ';dry clean only'; items in the washing machine? What are your results?
Actually Melissa's answer is quite funny. Manufacturers can give a flying f**k about dry cleaners. They just want to have the problem happen somewhere else so they can blame the cleaner (sometimes it is the cleaners OK but...) . When it happens to the person who didn't follow the label and the thing gets ruined, the person blames him(her) self and doesn't go after the machine maker, the oap company, the store etc.

In answer to the question, each item is different. To know whether or not an item can be washed requires knowledge of fibers, chemistry, construction, and a bit pf physics. If you don't have this knowledge, then it is a bit like Las Vegas, you win some and you lose some.
I've used the washing machine to wash dry clean only items and the dryer kits for other more delicate items or when a jacket simply needs refreshing. Over the years, I have had a couple failures, but to be honest, no more than the dry cleaners did LOL. Often, the problems are embellishments, or extremely delicate fabrics which tend to tear easily, or vintage items that were made with cat gut which tends to get a loose end and totally unravel a seam. But, overall, I also have experienced great success and huge savings by taking the time to care for dry clean only items at home.
I'll wash just about anything that says ';Dry Clean Only'; in the cold, delicate cycle. I usually hang or flat dry them to reduce the need for ironing. I haven't tried it with my suits though, but I have used Dryel to freshen them. YES! A couple of things didn't work out well. Thing of that is, if I calculate what I save over dry cleaning, the cost of replacing something once in a while is a lot cheaper.

And yes! I can and do laundry.
Yes all the time. I have several dresses that I wash all the time that say dry clean only. I have ruined one item by washing it. Its a chance you take. I think some times manufacturers want to drum up business for cleaners.
    some good some real bad
Yes, I have done the same and used Woolite. Saves on money!!!

Will a credit card work even if it went through a wash cycle in the washing machine?

My credit card went through a cycle in the washing machine. Has anyone done that, and how did it turn out? Will a credit card work even if it went through a wash cycle in the washing machine?
Unless the card was damaged or the magnetic strip on the back of the card is gone,it should still work. If not, contact your credit card company for a replacement. Will a credit card work even if it went through a wash cycle in the washing machine?
What counts is whether the magnetized strip will still work. Bending can wreck that, but I don't think water can. Best way to tell is to take it to a store or ATM and try using it.
    You destroyed the magnetic strip.
It might still work. Just go someplace and test it.
I say it will because it won't be like bented
I think it would still work. Why don't you try it and find out?

Where does the water go from the wash machine?

I always wondered where the water from my machine ends up after I do a load of laundry. Does anyone know?Where does the water go from the wash machine?
It leaves your home through the wastewater pipe, same as other ';used'; water, and most likely goes to a wastewater treatment facility, where it's cleaned and re-used.Where does the water go from the wash machine?
It goes the same way as the toilet to the sewer plant if you live in town.Out in the country it goes wherever you want it to.
Down the drain. Same place as your sink, toilet and shower water.
Huh! mines gos out da hose thru da hol in da bak waal and down da hill bahine mi hows, huh das difrent. I lik deer ideer.

There is REGULAR, KNITS and PERMANENT PRESS. What do you use ther permanent press for? What do you use the permanent press wash machine cycle for?
permanent press doesn't wear out clothes as quickly as running them thru the regular cycle, yet gets them very clean. i actually used it for all my clothes. i got this tip from martha stewart's website when i got married 2 years ago and it does indeed work better for my clothes. it keeps them looking newer longer. What do you use the permanent press wash machine cycle for?
Anytime you want to wash something that's not durable enough for the ';normal'; cycle, but needs more agitation than the ';delicate'; cycle
Just things you want to be a bit more gentle with than the regular cycle.
Usually synthetic fabrics that retain an ironed look if washed gently and dried during the permanent press cycle on the dryer.

Is it unhygienic to wash a dog's bed with washing machine?

It should be just fine, unless it's infested with fleas. :) We've always washed our ';dog laundry'; in our washer... I know that just because we do it doesn't make it hygienic, but we've never had a problem!

Good luck!Is it unhygienic to wash a dog's bed with washing machine?
No. Can't be any worse than washing your underwear in there. I wash my dogs blanket in the washer and everything is just fine.Is it unhygienic to wash a dog's bed with washing machine?

Can I put delicate clothes in washing machine if i use a laundry wash bag?

I bought some laundry net bags for washing clothes, i am wondering if i can put my delicate clothes such as lace and silk dresses in the bag and wash them in the washing machine? Can I put delicate clothes in washing machine if i use a laundry wash bag?
sure. that's the main reason for net bags. Can I put delicate clothes in washing machine if i use a laundry wash bag?
Be careful. Those net bags can be of a rough material and they can actually ruin a bag. I would place the garment in a different bag first, baste the opening shut and then place in the garment bag and then it ready to throw in the machine ON A DELICATE CYCLE Report Abuse

Silk? Real silk? In a washing machine....noooooo if it is real silk it could get damaged and water marked. If it isn't real silk, check the label very very well - what does the label say about washing. If it says HAND WASH, then you might be able to get away with washing it in the machine IF you take care over which washing cycle/programme you use - don't put it on a 60 degree hot wash - use the hand wash or wool wash programme - yes laundry bags are a good idea if you're putting things that catch (like lace or underwear) in with other things, but won't protect it against the wrong wash cycle or temperature!

I sound like my mother I know, but I learned the hard way about reading the wash care labels!!

    Take care

If the label states machine washable, then yes. If the label states hand-wash, then the gamble is yours. I have put delicates in a machine using a washbag on a hand wash cycle which is cold and slow spin. If wool, use woolite or something similar.
Yes, so long as they are secure within the bag and the water temperature and detergents are right for them.
    Absolutely!

How do you remove white stains on colored shirts after I wash them in the washing machine?

I usually get white stains on colored shirts after I wash them in the washing machine. I've tried tons of detergents but nothing worked. I've ruined almost all of my clothes! How do you remove white stains on colored shirts after I wash them in the washing machine?
Oh I've had that. You're using too much laundry powder. Use less and it wont happen again. The stains that you do have at the moment might come out, depending on how serious the damage is. I have some tops that just keep the white stains, but others have gone. Also, it helps if you turn all your clothes inside-out when you wash them. That way the stains only appear on the inside of your clothes. Good luck! How do you remove white stains on colored shirts after I wash them in the washing machine?
    marks alot
Try using liquid laundry detergent. If you do not like the liquid, measure the correct amount of powder and place it (or the liquid) into the washing machine while it is filling and allow a little time for it to disolve. Then put your clothes in. NEVER put the clothes in first and then powders or liquid on top of the clothes, that will cause the spots.
Are these bleach stains from a previous wash cycle?

If so your out of luck, friend.

    Time to go shopping.
If you have washed them already which it seems you have, you are stuck with the stains. They have set and are permanent.

  • Is it ok to wash your shoes in the washing machine?

I have BLACK Nike Cortez's and i dont know if it is safe for the machine or the shoes. I dont want the shoes to come out white or ruined. Is it ok to wash your shoes in the washing machine?
cold water wash gentle short cycleIs it ok to wash your shoes in the washing machine?
    its fine

dont use bleach at all thoug.

do gental cycle, and see if u can put tit for a short cycle as well.
I wash athletic shoes in the washing machine a lot. Just be careful that the strings are removed if possible, so that they don't get all caught up on the washer agitator. It also keeps them more open so that water can swish through them. Also, it would be better to wash with a couple of towels. That helps to clean them better and keeps the washer balanced. Since your shoes are black, it might be better to use a dark towel so that lint from a lighter towel won't fuzz them up. Most athletic shoes are synthetic fiber and can be washed in the washing machine. If they are brand new, I might be a little wary in doing it; however, if they are old and grungy -- what do you have to lose?
If they are made of material and not of leather it would be okay.

What is the highest temperature I can wash adidas trainers in a washing machine?

i have washed them on 40 deg with no problems or if your worried you could wash them in warm water by hand. What is the highest temperature I can wash adidas trainers in a washing machine?
wash on a 40 ,, with plenty of powder and a bit of washing up liquid put your trainers in a zipped couch pillow case.. so they dont get scuffed?
40 degrees highest and put them inside a pillow case xxx
I use 40潞 for trainers and I put the washing liquid directly into the trainers to help get rid of the cheesy smell. Take the laces out and put them in a small bag or a pop-sock with the end knotted. I haven't tried higher temperatures.
