What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?

I want to know what the delicate cycle in the wash machine is for? What kind of cloths are ';delicate';.What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?
The delicate cycle would be for clothing that should really be washed by hand so that it will not get ruined, snagged, etc. Example, a ladies bra that has underwire would normally be washed by hand; but it can go in the gentle cycle for washing and it should really be hung up to air dry and not go in the dryer so it will keep it shape and not mess up so quickly. So clothing that you want to make sure it keeps it shape and not be damaged should go into the gentle cycle. This includes thin cotton clothing, pantyhose, nylons. Also, nice dress shirts or blouses work well in the gentle cycle. Get the idea? Hope so. If you want to know more go to Tide.com. Tide gives you hints on how to wash clothing and what cycle to put them on and how to sort your clothes, etc. What's the delicates cycle in the wash machine?
Delicates are for knits, underwear, anything you might hand wash.

Yes you can wash your shell toe shoes in the wash machine.

Just use the normal setting and I use hot water for whites and some dirty clothing items.

Just use a delicate hand wash in wash water.

After your shell-toes shoes are done but them outside to air dry.Can I wash white adidas superstars (shell-toes) in a washing machine?
I used to wash my gym shoes in the washing machine (quite a hassle IMO) before I found the gym shoe miracle cleaner...MR CLEAN ERASERS...you gotta try them if you haven't already. They get all of my gymmies back to bright white!
just get some sneaker cleaner.. the washing machine usually turns them yellow. or hand wash with some mild soap and warm water.. but you can put your shoelaces in the washer.
i dont think it will do any harm, but it would make a lot of noise.

Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?

We've been doing this for a few years now. Clothes look fine to me.Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?
We haven't unhooked the hot-water hose from the washing machine, but I use cool water for most of our clothing. My clothes and the kids' clothes turn out fine. I never found out why, but my husband decided years ago to start doing his own laundry, and he uses warm water for everything.

I use warm water for towels and bedding.Would you consider unhooking the hot-water hose from your wash machine for the environment?
I have started washing nearly entirely in cold with the same good results. I air dry a major portion of our clothes as well and they look better and newer longer using this process. One of the other answers is right about the powder laundry detergent in cold. It leaves a white residue. Arm and hammer liquid laundry detergent leaves the freshest cleanest smell of all of the liquid detergent for washing in cold that I have tried.
No need to unhook it. Just always choose cold water wash %26amp; rinse. I've done that for years and as you say, the quality of the washing seems the same. One thing to think about is the type of detergent you use. Powdered detergents don't dissolve well in cold water and at the end of the cycle could leave you with clothes full of lumps of detergent. Use a liquid instead or dissolve the powder in a jar of hot water first before adding to the load.
yes and would u consider taking the drainhose emptying the water into buckets and flushing the comode or watering yur garden with it, this is where a front loader comes in handy less water cleaner clothes not agitating around in dirt water, best investment i ever made, they have had them in europe for a very looong time.
i am sorry i don't wash in hot water it takes forever and a day to fill up the washer that way.
I think so yeah, well we usually use warm water only.
yes that is a great way to save on heating costs and helpful for the environment!

Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?

The duffel bag is a light pink and has everyday wear and tear to it. Will I ruin it if i stick it in the washer? Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?
Most likely not, nike duffel bags are made of a strong polyster material. I stick my totes from Hollister and American Eagle in the washer, they're made of a light cotton material, and they don't get ruined :) Well hope I helped! %26lt;3Can I wash a Nike duffel bag in the wash machine?

Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?

I have this 2 ft. stuff toy Garfield. he's soft and very huggable, he's very cute and very orange. i love him. but he's very dirty because i wasnt able to send him to the dry cleaning, been very busy. i have no time to bring him out to let somebody clean it. how can i wash him? can i put him inside the washing machine? or probably, i should just manually brush and clean him, then blow dry?

please help :)Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?
Try one of the Dryell kits!

    Or if you want.....

If there are not electronics in the toys, they go right into the washing machine(use a front loading model)! I haven't had any problems yet!

I'd say use a gentle laundry soap like Woolite and let it air dry, otherwise it's ';fur'; gets matted.

put it in a pillow case to keep it safe. Can i wash my big stuff toy in a washing machine?
Just give him a soak and a rub with stain removing soap, then throw the big guy in the machine just on rinse %26amp; spin cycle, then let him sun bake
If he fits with enough ';elbow room'; to move around in the washer at home, then that would be okay. Or, you might want to wash him in a laundry mat washer, bigger. But 2 ft. should be fine in home washer.

Please, wash him in cold water, and dry him in the dryer on perm press or high temp. Probably perm press would be best, but make sure he is dry --so the dryer should run for about an hour or so.

    Take care.
Depending on the size, it is best to wash stuffed animals inside a pillowcase, it still allows them to get clean without ruining the exterior.
I've thrown stuffed animals in the wash many times. It shouldn't be a problem, as long as it fits loosely in there.

How do you wash delicates in the washing machine?

You don't necessarily have to put them in a mesh bag, if you have a delicate cycle on your washing machine. The delicate cycle agitates less aggressively and is a shorter wash time, and also spins out more gentle than regular cycles. However if they are very delicate I would hand wash them or take them to the dry cleaners. How do you wash delicates in the washing machine?
Put them in a nylon mesh bag. You can get one at Wal-mart, K-Mart, etc.
