What do you do for a septic smell from your wash machine drain?

i put draino down through it and duct tapped the top of the pipe.just me living here.i would hate it if someone else lived with me to get sick off of this smell.the smell is not really that bad it being tapped off.but it still gives you a headache and bad taste in your mouth.What do you do for a septic smell from your wash machine drain?

Whenever I smell that yucky smell, I put a package of yeast down the drain. The yeast encourages the bacteria to eat up all the yucky stuff in the tank. If that does not work, you may have to have it cleaned out.
the problem you are having is to check whether a j trap was install,and also when was the last time your septic tank was cleaned,it could be backing up also.and never put Drano or hard chemicals in a septic tank,this destroys the microorganisms that get rid of the waste.
